A Caribbean villa is going to be available to buy in the near future, but there’s not a whole lot to see there yet.
That’s because the island’s tourism agency, Tourism Caribbean, has been busy working on getting the new villas built.
“There are three villas that have been built that are on the market, and one is the Caribbean Villa,” says Tourism Caribbean’s tourism and tourism marketing manager, Joanna de la Torre.
“And they’re going to sell for $15,000 each.”
That price tag is for one villa.
“The price for a house in the Caribbean is much higher,” she says.
“We’re just trying to get the first one up for sale.”
A villa for sale in the Dominican Republic The first villa will be on the island of Dominica, which is about 10 miles west of Port-au-Prince, but De la Torr says that doesn’t mean she’s going to wait for the rest of the island to get built.
She says it’s still possible for people to visit the island in the future.
“I hope people will come and see it,” she explains.
“But it’s not going to happen this year, because there is still a lot of work to do.
We’re doing the work of getting the villas up and running, so that’s our main focus.”
The villas will be sold at the same price as the villa they replace, but the price tag will depend on how much the new owner wants to pay.
“They’re going for the same prices because we’ve got the same team,” she adds.
The villa that’s currently being built will cost $15.9 million, but that price is only going to go up as the price of the land increases.
“It’s very likely that the price will go up because we have a lot more land,” she admits.
De la Turre says the new homes will be located on different islands in the island.
“These villas are going to have an exterior, a living room and kitchen,” she said.
“You’ll be able [to] walk inside the house and see the whole villa.”
A Caribbean Villa is going on sale in Puerto Rico, where there are about 15,000 homes for sale.
But De la Terra says that will only be the beginning.
“For the Caribbean villasuare, we have another project that is going very quickly, and it’s a large project,” she explained.
“So we are going through an expansion right now in the community to create a bigger community.”
De la Torres says the villasuares will be more affordable than a villa on a Caribbean island, but it will still be worth the money.
“If you want to buy a home on a small island, that’s going for a lot less than a Caribbean villau,” she laughs.
“That’s what you get when you sell a Caribbean home.”
